Grade 6 六年级

So far, we have covered two chapters: Negative Numbers and Percentages (Part 2).

The content on negative numbers was designed to engage students by using historical and real-life examples, allowing them to understand negative numbers in concrete contexts. Through activities such as temperature forecasts and comparing income and expenses in electronic bills, students further grasped the concept of using positive and negative numbers to represent opposite quantities in real-life situations. They also learned how to read and write positive and negative numbers and understand their meanings in specific contexts.

The content of Percentages (Part 2) was taught after students had already learned how to apply percentages to solve real-world problems. The main objective was to further enhance students' understanding of the method for determining a number when its percentage is known. The focus was also on helping students comprehend the significance of discounts and understand the quantitative relationships involved in solving discount application problems.

During the teaching process, in order to better assist students in understanding and mastering the knowledge, as well as enhancing their problem-solving abilities, various resources and tools were utilised. These included targeted online resources from platforms like IXL, timed training exercises from Jingyou, interactive math games like Kahoot, and timely assistance and personalised guidance provided after class. As a result, students made significant progress and improvement.

Grade 7 七年级

G7 students are currently immersed in two interesting math units: intersecting lines and parallel lines, and the Cartesian coordinate system. These two units are like "GPS" in mathematics, teaching us how to find directions in the world of geometry!

Intersecting lines and parallel lines sound like a party for lines! Some lines are good friends walking side by side (parallel lines), while others embrace each other warmly (intersecting lines). This is not just a geometry game. Just think about it, architects rely on these concepts to design buildings and ensure they don't "collide"! And what about the Cartesian coordinate system? It's like sending "address cards" to geometric shapes! Each point has its own unique coordinates, so they never get lost anymore. Just like finding a restaurant on a map, with coordinates, you can easily locate any corner of the geometric world!

Grade 8 八年级

G8 students are now embarking on a magical mathematical adventure, exploring the mysteries of "quadratic radicals"! In this unit, they not only deal with square roots but also play a game of "hide and seek" with a bunch of seemingly complex numbers and expressions. But don't worry, this is not a dull task! On the contrary, it's more like an exciting mental stimulation and thinking challenge!

Imagine quadratic radicals as a shared fruit platter in the kingdom of mathematics. It may look a bit complicated, but once you grasp its patterns, you can taste the sweetness! Students, like little explorers, constantly discover secret passages and hidden connections between numbers and expressions during their learning process. They learn how to cleverly simplify radical expressions, like wielding a magic wand to transform a pile of messy numbers into a concise and orderly form.

Moreover, this knowledge is not just for passing exams! In real life, quadratic radicals are great contributors! For example, in construction sites, engineers rely on them to ensure the stability and precision of buildings. In physics laboratories, scientists use them to describe and explain the laws of motion in the natural world. Therefore, while learning quadratic radicals, eighth-grade students not only exercise their brain's thinking abilities but also lay a solid foundation for becoming "magicians" in various fields in the future! Let's look forward to their abundant knowledge and fun in this mathematical adventure!
