One class, three field trips! This week, the Grade 5 students had exciting adventures in their field trips related to PYP exhibition. Our journeys took us to places where we explored important topics that are crucial for a sustainable future and global food security, physical and mental health benefits of sports and physical activity, and the conservation efforts to protect endangered animals.

一个班级，三场实地考察！五年级的同学们被分成三个小组，围绕三个探究主题开展实地考察学习，这三个主题分别是“可持续发展的未来和全球粮食安全”、“体育运动对身心健康的益处” 、“濒危动物的保育工作”。

One group, focusing on the central idea of "Addressing food waste is crucial for a sustainable future and global food security," embarked on a fascinating field trip to the Fushan Economic Circular Industrial Zone. There, we witnessed the marvels of technology and learned about the journey our food waste takes when we throw it away. It was eye-opening to see how waste can be transformed into useful resources through recycling and composting.

小组一：围绕“解决厨余垃圾对未来可持续发展和全球粮食安全至关重要”这一主题，学生们带着自己的思考，来到福山经济循环产业园，他们见证了科技的神奇力量，了解了厨余垃圾经过回收、分离、破碎、蒸煮、再分离等一系列处理过程，竟能够转化为有用的资源。这让学生们惊叹不已，不仅极大地加深了他们的对厨余垃圾处理的理解，还拓宽了他们的视野，让他们深刻认识到资源循环利用对未来可持续发展的重要意义。

Another group, exploring the central idea of "Understanding the physical and mental health benefits of sports and physical activity," visited the Phoenix Sports and Recreation Club. We were given a guided tour of the gym and participated in a fitness class, where we sweated and had a blast! We also had the opportunity to interview a personal trainer, who answered our burning questions about the importance of staying active.

小组二：带着“了解体育运动对身心健康的益处”这一主题，学生们参观了凤凰体育与休闲俱乐部。在参观了各类健身房及专业器材后，他们还亲身体验了由专业健身教练指导的健身课程。大家一起流汗，感觉特别开心，每个学生都感受到了运动的魅力！此外，他们还采访了一位私人教练，就保持积极运动重要性等相关问题进行了深入交流。

The third group, delving into the central idea of "Conservation efforts are essential to protect endangered animals," had an unforgettable experience at the Guangzhou Zoo. We got up close and personal with endangered animals and discovered valuable information about their current population, the reasons behind their endangered status, and what we can do to protect them. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving biodiversity and taking action to safeguard our planet's incredible creatures.

小组三：围绕“濒危动物的保育工作对于保护濒危动物的重要性”这一探究主题，学生们在广州动物园开展了探究学习活动。他们近距离观察濒危动物，了解了许多宝贵信息，如它们当前种群数量、濒危原因以及如何保护它们等。这对学生们来说是一个强有力的提醒，意识到保护生物多样性的重要性，才能采取行动来保护我们地球上独特的生物。

These trips broadened our horizons and inspired us to take action and make a positive impact on the world. We can’t wait to share our learning at the PYP exhibition next month!
