Recently, there has been a positive and active atmosphere in the geography classes for seventh and eighth graders, as well as the social studies class for sixth graders. Students have been engaging in discussions on global important topics while acquiring knowledge.

近期,七年级和八年级的地理课堂以及六年级的个体与社会课堂展现出了积极活跃的氛围。同学们在学习知识的同时,对全球重要话题展开了讨论。


The recent unit for sixth-grade students is titled "Fairness and Development," which explores topics such as poverty, regional development disparities, and factors influencing national development. In this unit, students have had many opportunities to present on stage and express their viewpoints. Through this approach, they are able to better understand and pay attention to social issues and contribute their own suggestions to address these problems.

六年级开展了"公平与发展"单元的学习,课堂上探讨了贫困、地区发展差异以及影响国家发展的因素等话题。在这个单元中,学生们有很多机会进行台上的展示,发表自己的观点。通过这种方式,他们能够更好地理解和关注社会问题,并为解决这些问题提出自己的建议。

The seventh-grade geography unit is focused on "Global Citizens," starting from Asia, the continent we live in, and delving into Asia's six major subregions and prominent countries such as India and Russia. Students learn about the cultural, economic, and natural environmental characteristics of different regions through maps, landscape images, and case studies. The inclusion of students from British Feathers School further emphasises the importance of a global perspective. In the geography class, students from various parts of the world broaden their horizons, fostering cross-cultural communication and understanding.

The eighth-grade geography unit centres around "Regional Disparities" with a specific focus on China's geography. Teachers guide students in exploring the four major regions of China and the natural environment and cultural differences among various regions, aiming to help them understand the reasons behind these disparities. Through teacher-student interaction, group collaboration, and discussions, students gain in-depth knowledge about the characteristics and developmental dynamics of different regions in China. The section on "Hong Kong and Macau," which is more relevant to daily life, provides students with ample opportunities to showcase themselves and share their personal experiences while explaining the knowledge.

八年级的地理学习单元为"区域差异",聚焦于中国地理。老师在课堂上带领同学们探究了中国的四大分区以及各个区域的自然环境和人文差异,旨在帮助孩子们理解这些差异的原因。通过师生互动、小组合作和讨论,学生们得以深入了解我国各个地区的特点和发展动态。而更贴近生活实际的“香港和澳门”部分的学习,老师则给予同学们充分展现自我的机会,结合自己的亲身经历进行知识讲解。

In these geography classes, students demonstrate high levels of participation, and the classroom atmosphere is relaxed and lively. Various teaching methods, such as group discussions, role-playing, and practical activities, stimulate students' interest in learning and enhance their thinking abilities. Such classroom experiences not only help them acquire knowledge but also cultivate interdisciplinary thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities.
